Clearing Out

Penny and I are clearing out and cleaning up our hobby areas.  She’s doing her sewing rooms and I’m doing my shop and storage sheds.

In the process I’ve come across some items which may be useful for the kids or just some things they might want for sentimental reasons.

First there are these 3 bar stools I have from my sister.  They are oak and well built but need a little tightening of the joints (but so do I)

Next this dresser from Christy’s room.

On the left a set of glasses – on the right in the white box a small George Foreman grill – in the center Christy’s old makeup case.

Christy there are also 2 plastic cases with dried flowers from significant events that you saved.

There will be more but if there is any interest on these let me know.

April Come She Will

Yes, April is here already.  Blogging has taken a back seat to our daily lives with the interaction of Twitter and Facebook keeping us all in touch.  I’m still going to try to write periodically.  It leaves a good reference journal.

Last time I wrote we had just finished helping C&C move.  Since then we went back to Jacksonville to attend a celebration of life for one of Penny’s relatives.  We stayed at Penney Retirement Community (PRC) and visited my sister for Easter.  We didn’t even see Karen and Tim or C&C or the grandkids on this trip!

PRC is a great place.  I think Kathy and Joe will be happy there.

Here’s a picture of their new house:

just kidding

Easter meal was provided by Kerry and she and her family spent Easter with Kathy.  I got some good time in with the family in the pool at PRC.

The celebration with Penny’s family went well.

On Monday we headed up to North Georgia to find the gravestone of Penny’s brother Steve.  She’s felt the need to do that and now she has some closure to a part of her family history that has been cloaked in mystery and lies and misinformation.

She found her brother’s grave and those of other relatives.

We got to see a lot of Georgia back roads on that drive.

This week at home I got my garden started. It’s later than I usually get started but the cold weather held on a little longer.  This is how things look this year:

Yesterday we got to see Lexi and Rob  and family.  Jody and Rita were down for Lillianna’s dedication at Lexi’s church.  Penny made a quilt in 1 day for the baby!
