As we approach the end of the year I’d like to share with you the words of Dave Barry:
“It was a year of Hope -- at first in the sense of ``I feel hopeful!'' and later in the sense of ``I hope this year ends soon!''
It was also a year of Change, especially in Washington, where the tired old hacks of yesteryear finally yielded the reins of power to a group of fresh, young, idealistic, new-idea outsiders such as Nancy Pelosi. As a result Washington, rejecting ``business as usual,'' finally stopped trying to solve every problem by throwing billions of taxpayer dollars at it and instead started trying to solve every problem by throwing trillions of taxpayer dollars at it.”
Penny felt well enough today to want to go to Harbordocks. She wanted to see how it looked after the remodeling was complete. To me it didn’t look that different. It was cleaned up and some seating changes incorporated. The food remains spectacular. Today I had Sesame fried Grouper with cheese grits and slaw.
We found out today that Harbordocks has a lunch card. Lunch there 8 times and get your next lunch free. They’ve been doing this “for a long time” and we just didn’t know about it.
We actually went out to Destin, ate and returned home with no other stops. We usually use the restaurant as a starting point for shopping. Today we couldn’t think of anything we needed or wanted to shop for. Only 2 shopping days left this year!
