Karen related in her blog about Sophie reading signs and writing. I reminded her about her (Karen) reading the road sign “NOT A THROUGH STREET” and thinking the road wasn’t completed yet. That story is usually followed by our story of Christy reading the SHOE CITY sign as “Show Kitty”.
All this got me to look back into my journal I kept of the kids growing up and that led to Karen’s church rules:
----------------------------------------------------
Church rulse
Be Kwiit
But you can wisper
go get a Book
so you now what to sing
and shake hands say prarse and bleses
-----------------------------------------------
That’s not bad for a 4 1/2-year-old (about the same age as Sophie!) At this time Christy could knew her alphabet and the sounds of many letters including L,P,B,T,S…
This is also the time period when Christy told me we needed to wash her hands because her “thumbs were blurry”.
