River Run (Walk) 2013

This year the River Walk hit beautiful weather.  Mid-60s and Sunny.

I rode in with K&T and we spent some time at WJCT before finding our starting place.  The day started cold enough  to require a jacket for the first couple of miles.  Karen and I walked with her friend, Kerry, spinning a baton the whole way.Photo by kfeagins

The walk seemed easier today than it has been.  I think that the weather had a great deal to do with it-plus I’m lighter than I’ve been for any previous walk.

There were the usual spectators and dogs but no real characters this year.  It was still fun getting to spend time with Karen.

I remembered to moleskin my soles. I brought along a protein bar for snack and a protein drink for the finish.  There were plenty of bananas and beer at the finish.

The walkers came in from the side this year and although it was good for the functionality of the run it removed the thrill of the start of the race for the walkers.

Tim ran and walked and the ran the kid’s mile with Sophie.

We got food at Wendy’s afterwards-that’s part of the tradition now.

Now I’m a little stiff and achy but feeling OK.
