I had no idea of how worn out I was until I woke up this morning. I think everyone who reads my blog was at Christy and Christian’s wedding so there is no great mystery about what I’ve been up to for the past week and a half. I’m not sure what I will write about this past week—it depends on time and other happenings. It was a fantastic week and I am happy for C&C as the start their married life together.
I have been going all day every day for a while but this past week has seen the peak. It began with loading the trailer last Monday and ended yesterday when I got the trailer unloaded and all the refrigerated stuff put away. I didn’t intend to take the day off today. I had no choice. When I woke up today my thumbs, shoulder and back were all sore. My thumbs hurt so badly I couldn’t use them. I took my morning pills and applied the anti-inflammatory ointment to my thumbs and Penny and I went out to Waffle House for breakfast. That was nice because it was the last day for a waitress we have gotten to know well and we were able to say good-bye.
When I got back home I still hurt but I also was very tired so I retreated to my recliner and proceeded to fall asleep—for 4 hours. I don’t ever recall sleeping as hard as I did today. I literally couldn’t wake up the couple of times I surfaced slightly from my deep sleep.
I finally was able to wake at 1:15, got some lunch (pulled pork from the reception) and have spent the afternoon on the recliner. The only productive work I’ve done is to update my budget with last weeks wedding receipts. My thumbs have eased enough for me to use the computer with only moderate pain.
Now I’ve got a garage full of stuff to find someplace to store and a pile of yard work and housework to catch up on when my body lets me. It was worth it though.
