I kept busy today. We started with our usual run to Target. We bought some necessities and other not so necessary stuff. The only thing we bought that I would classify as frivolous is a ultrasonic tape measure. It measures distance up to 40 ft and can calculate area or volume. I figure it will be useful when we redo the bathroom and just fun to play with at other times.
After Target we shopped at Publix. We got some discounted storage hardware and found they have 4-packs of canned cat food BOGO free. We loaded up on that. They also had corn at 25 cents an ear. Penny and I planned a meal around that using pork chops that remained from my birthday present from Kathy, plantains we fried up and, of course, the corn. We ate the lunch in the relaxing atmosphere of our sunroom.
After lunch I headed out to the shed to continue with my use-it-or-throw-it-out campaign. I rearranged the shop a little putting in the new cabinet we got at Lowe’s last week. Then I hooked up a plug to the blower assembly I kept from our old air conditioner. I wanted to make sure it worked OK. It did. Next I will make an enclosure for it and attach ducting and turn it into a dust collection unit for the shop.
I also explored ways of making a fuel tank for the outboard. I’ve got a nice little cylindrical gas can (plastic) that I got from my Dad. It is very sturdy and I think I can mount it securely and safely in place of the leaky tank. I may try to do this over the weekend.
I had apple snack at 3 and watched Ellen’s 1,000th show. Then it was out for a walk in the neighborhood. The walk was actually pleasant. One reason is that my foot is almost completely better. The other reason is that there are flowers in bloom everywhere. The air is filled with fragrance everywhere and the flowers that people use for landscaping are pretty to see. I walked for an hour and saw more squirrels than I could count.
A car pulled up next to me and the woman driving asked me if I knew how to get to Rodney St. That was an easy question to answer because we were on Rodney St.
When I got home I found that the new GPS we ordered had arrived so after making Penny a light dinner I spent the rest of the evening familiarizing myself with it and downloading the latest software and firmware updates.
Meredith showed up last night but Buzz wasn't there.
