Retirement is such that holidays are nothing special—except when it gives the kids an extra day and they come see us. Now I find myself having to confirm that it is in fact a holiday. Don’t get me wrong. That’s not a bad thing. It’s nice having every day off.
Today I worked all day on the kitchen island with the result being all the major pieces are cut to size. Tomorrow I will dry fit it together and if all looks good glue the basic box structure up. This is the easiest and speediest part of the project.. The facing, molding, drawers , doors, shelves and painting will take a little longer.
It was a beautiful day to be outside. A light sweatshirt was comfortable.
It doesn’t make for an exciting day, just a nice one.
