Post-Cold / Pre-Cana

That’s been my Saturday and Sunday.

My cold finally began to ebb on Saturday—sufficiently for me to get some necessary tasks done. I unpacked my suitcase and gathered up the mounds of dirty laundry we had accumulated over the last 3 weeks. The few clean clothes in the suitcase also needed to be washed because they smelled like smoke from Las Vegas. Everything sorted into 7 large piles. I threw one in the washer and went outside to untangle the jungle that the garden had become.

We were gone only 10 days but every plant grew tremendously during that time. Some of the tomato plants were hanging out of their containers and needed to be tied up to the trestle. The basil plants were already forming seeds. The vine plants were crawling in places I didn’t want them to crawl. The good news is everything except 1 tomato plant looks great. Little tomatoes are forming and there are many, many blossoms on the tomato, squash, cucumber, and eggplant plants. I spent the necessary time to get the garden under control.

Next it was the lawn that had also run amuck. Some of the grass in the front lawn was 10 inches high.

I finished 2 loads of laundry and the yard work and then had to rest. The cold was still with me and let me know when I was done for the day.

We did church Saturday night to clear Sunday for Pre-Cana.

Sunday was primarily Pre-Cana, the marriage preparation program we participate in.

I’m about 80 % back to normal now. The cold is giving up on me. I’m glad because I’ve got a pile of things to get done.
