Every time I tried to do something outside today it stared to rain or rumble—so I did inside things. Tomorrow has an even greater rain probability so it looks like a good laundry day (as long as the lightning stays away).
So tonight I’m sitting in my recliner ordering a gift for the Shockley wedding when some motion outside catches my eye. I’m surprised to see another raccoon moseying toward the feeder. He saw me move my head so he stopped and tried to see what I was. I wiggled my hand and that made him stand on his rear legs to get a better look. He turned away, took a step and then turned back toward the feeder actually licking his chops. I got out of the chair and this caused him to skidaddle. The raccoons just keep coming. I can’t believe the size of the raccoon population in this well established neighborhood—especially with all the dogs around. Maybe the proximity of the wide open schoolyard has something to do with it.
Once again my trap is set.
