We were supposed to have a couple here today fro FOCCUS but they called and canceled because of the weather. We had heavy thunderstorms roll through and were under tornado watches.
Penny and I had cleared the decks and made the session our priority today so when they called we wanted to go back to our projects. I was able to get back to cabinet building but she couldn’t use her sewing machine in the rumbly weather. It wasn’t a good idea to do laundry or even be on the computer. Penny likes to read on days like this but her health even prevents that today. So she’s not having a good day. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow also then get cold.
I did get to finish the basic cabinet structure and the 3-shelf drawer and put them together today. An open shelf top and all the finish molding and facing remains to be built. Then it’s sanding and finishing. It looks like I can finish this one on deadline.
Christy’s plant in our front yard is in full bloom. Penny and I played around taking pictures of it yesterday. It is keeping many bees busy.
I find all of the lawyer-speak going on about the Illinois Governor selling the senate seat interesting. You’ve got to really analyze what is said because it’s not what it sounds like.
Example: Would you say that such and such was involved? Answer- I cant say that. That sounds like “no” but is simply a statement that the guy was instructed not to say anything.
Example: We- ah – I was not in contact with the Governor’s office. Translation—my staff handled it for me.
Example: I never made an offer to pay for a senate seat. Translation—They came to me with an offer.
Bill Clinton was masterful in saying things that sound good and are true but actually admit wrongdoing. I get a kick out of the journalists accepting answers like this from politicians.
