Take it Easy

That’s what the doctor said to do with my thumbs. He’s also referring me back to the neurologist for treatment which may include some physical therapy. He said my problem sounds like tendonitis and the reason it doesn’t go away is because the tendons don’t get a lot of blood and therefore heal slowly. Doing just about anything will set back healing. So I’m back on Prednisone and maybe some other topical meds with physical therapy.

My blood work was good except for a high sugar reading. I’ll be taking a glucose tolerance test next week. I’m hoping the reading was an anomaly. More on this next week.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to keep up with what has to be done without stressing my thumbs. I had planned on repairing and painting the wood siding and trim on the house next week but I’m going to have to hold off on that. The biggest stressers I have are laundry and other housework and that has to get done. I’ll just do them carefully and hang things up in small batches.

The good news is that my foot pain is almost completely gone. I can get some walking in without stressing my thumbs and that will be good for me.

Tomorrow Penny and I are going to check out the new Kohl’s in town.
