Tuesday the 28th

Keeping with my current thrust to do those things I have put off to do until “later” I finally fixed the leak I had in my car’s windshield washer fluid line. I had to open up the wheel well to get at the leak. I found an illustration on line showing where the washer line went—that saved me from opening up the wrong area. Once I got at the leak I just cut out the section that was split and joined the tube back together with a connector I bought at Ace Hardware. Now I’ve got my washer system back again.

I also washed off all the bugs that spattered on the car on the drive back. Lots of bugs come out after dark. Fortunately they wash off easily.

I was going to see if I could get the outboard running consistently today but when I looked at the motor I found that the fuel tank had cracked and leaked again. A new tank is not available so I either have to give the repair another shot or make or buy something that I can fit on the motor. I may have a fuel tank from an old lawnmower that will work but I think in my clean-up throw-out process I’ve been going through I tossed it. I’ll check that tomorrow.

The good news today is that my back is all beter--in less than a week. The cold is still hanging on a little.

Meredith and Buzz are still missing.
